My boyfriend and I were talking about the benefits of waking up early. He sometimes goes for a morning run (!) since it’s not as hot, while I just want some peace and quiet before everyone else wakes up. We’ve both found that it allows us to start our day right and this small win in the morning sets the tone for the rest of the day.
I was having a chat with some friends on ways we can get to know ourselves better and we started talking about journaling. I journal pretty much every day, so I thought I’d share what my experience has been like.
Life is so damn beautiful. It feels like everything is just falling into place and I’m right where I’m meant to be. There’s a sense of peace and bliss in every moment. How did I get here?
Those who know me will have heard me say many, many times, “I’m not a morning person.” If I haven’t caffeinated adequately, don’t talk to me. I’ll be in zombie mode. That was the reality for most of my uni life and it was so bad that the damn baristas (as cute and lovely as they are) knew my name and my coffee order and might’ve even made it before I got to the front of the queue… until things started to change a few months ago. Now I’m up around 5am and feel ready to slay the day. 💃🏻
I recently started this personal development course from Mindvalley called Extraordinary by Design. Run by Mindvalley’s founder Vishen Lakhiani, it aims to dispel the “bullshit rules” that society has engrained into us and help set goals to make life extraordinary. Yeah, the course is pretty extraordinary alright. It made me really think about my life and what I wanted out of it.
